Gas pipe leak test in Leipzig: how tight is your gas pipe?

For the serviceability test according to TRGI 2018 (Gebrauchsfähigkeitsprüfung) we measure the leak rate of your indoor gas pipe in Leipzig and the surrounding area — not estimated. The result is a number: litres per hour, relative to the operating pressure.

Three possible results.

below 1 l/h

Fully serviceableThe pipe may continue to be operated without restriction.

from 1 to below 5 l/h

Reduced serviceabilityContinued operation is permitted, but the pipe must be repaired without delay, within four weeks at the latest.

from 5 l/h

Not serviceableThe pipe is shut down immediately and may only be put back into operation after repair and a new test.

We tell you the condition of the pipe and assess the result using specified leak volumes. The classification follows the technical rules and is not at our discretion.

How the result is obtained.

The pipe is shut off, put under test pressure and measured with a leak-rate measuring device. Result, classification and consequences go into the report — for you and, where required, for the network operator.
